About Nicky Litchfield

Nicky Litchfield is a British artist based in Lancashire's picturesque Ribble Valley.

Her love of animals began at her grandparents' farm, where she spent weekends and summers as a child. Surrounded by livestock and the countryside, Nicky developed a lifelong fascination with animals and their individual personalities.

That connection remains visible in her artwork today.

Nicky aims to capture the character and essence of each subject, whether it is the alert expression of a dog, the movement of a hare or the gentle presence of a horse.

Her artwork has grown in popularity over the years, including recognition from the Society for All Artists, where she won Artist of the Year in the Animal category in 2008.

Her work includes dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, foxes, donkeys and hares, as well as other farm animals and wildlife. Her own website reflects the breadth of these recurring subjects.

Nicky has a particular talent for capturing the small details that communicate personality: an attentive expression, the angle of an ear, a distinctive pose or the suggestion of movement.

This gives her animal artwork a warmth and individuality that resonates strongly with animal lovers.

Dogs, Horses and Farm Animals

Horses, cows, pigs and donkeys appear alongside her much-loved dog portraits, while hares and foxes bring a connection to the wider British countryside.
