About Sarah Jackson
Sarah Jackson grew up on the rugged Cornish coast, where nature, wildlife and adventure became important influences on her artistic practice. She studied Illustration at Falmouth University, graduating in 2011, before beginning her career as a freelance editorial illustrator. Sarah Jackson's Recycled Paper Art
One of the defining characteristics of Sarah Jackson's artwork is her use of recycled magazines as an artistic material.
Rather than treating paper simply as a surface to work on, Sarah transforms discarded magazine pages into individual elements of the composition. Carefully selected colours and fragments are layered together to create richly textured images with a painterly appearance.
This distinctive process gives each artwork a sense of depth, movement and visual texture, while also reinforcing the artist's interest in celebrating and protecting the natural environment.
Wildlife and Ocean Artwork
Sarah Jackson's love of nature is particularly evident in her wildlife and marine artwork. Her subjects include birds, sea creatures and underwater scenes, with colour and movement playing an important role in bringing each composition to life.
Her ocean-inspired artwork is especially atmospheric, using layered colours and intricate paper textures to evoke the movement and depth of the sea. This makes Sarah Jackson prints an appealing choice for anyone looking for coastal artwork, marine life prints, wildlife wall art or colourful contemporary nature artwork.
Sarah's work has also received significant recognition. She was the Into the Blue category winner at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2025 exhibition, following her success in winning the Ronald Morgan Memorial Prize at the Royal Society of British Artists exhibition in 2023.
Contemporary Nature-Inspired Art
Sarah Jackson's work sits comfortably between wildlife art, contemporary mixed-media art and paper collage. Her distinctive technique gives familiar natural subjects a fresh and modern interpretation.
Her artwork can bring colour and personality to contemporary interiors, while her use of recycled materials adds an additional layer of meaning for collectors who appreciate art inspired by the environment.
